# Stilo Privacy Policy

Stilo is a personal writing and notebook app for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains how information is handled when you use Stilo or contact its developer for support.

## Your writing stays on your device

Stilo stores your notebook text, titles, formatting, paper and cover selections, preferences, deleted items, and library recovery copies in the app's local storage. This information is used to provide writing, reading, search, customization, and recovery features on your device.

Stilo does not automatically send your writing or preferences to the developer. The app does not require an account and has no developer-operated server for storing notebooks. Stilo does not provide automatic cross-device synchronization.

## No advertising, analytics, or tracking

Stilo contains no advertising or analytics SDKs. The app does not track you across other apps or websites, access advertising identifiers, or sell your personal information.

## Exports, imports, and device backups

You can export notebooks as text or PDF and export your library as a JSON backup. These files may include your writing, formatting, settings, and other library contents. A library backup may also contain deleted items retained in Recently Deleted.

When you choose to export, share, or import a file, the selected file provider, storage service, or receiving app handles that file under its own terms and privacy policy. Stilo does not automatically upload these files to the developer. Choose destinations you trust and manage access to exported files yourself.

Depending on your device settings, Apple device backups may include Stilo's local data. Those backups are managed through Apple's services and your device settings.

## Permissions and system services

Stilo uses the system file picker and share sheet for files you choose. It does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, or location.

If you use dictation or a third-party keyboard through the system keyboard, those features are provided by the operating system or keyboard provider. Their data handling is governed by the relevant provider's settings and privacy policy.

## Retention and deletion

Your notebooks remain in the local library until you delete them or remove the app. Deleted notebooks and pages remain in Recently Deleted until you restore or permanently delete them.

Recovery copies can contain earlier versions of your library, including items permanently deleted from the current library. To remove those copies, use Delete Recovery Copies in Settings. New recovery copies may be created when you continue using the app.

Deleting Stilo removes its local library and recovery files from the device. Offloading the app may retain its data. Files you exported, shared copies, and device backups must be managed separately in the locations or services where they are stored.

The developer cannot remotely access, recover, or delete notebooks stored only on your device.

## Information you send by email

If you contact support, the developer receives your email address and the information you choose to include, such as a description of an issue, device details, or screenshots. This information is used to respond to your request and troubleshoot the app.

Support correspondence is handled through email providers and retained only as needed to address the request, keep relevant support records, or meet applicable legal obligations. You may request deletion of support correspondence by emailing the address below. Information that must be retained by law may be kept for the required period.

Please do not send passwords, private notebook contents, or a full library backup. Remove personal information from screenshots before sending them.

## Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to Stilo or its data handling. The effective date above will identify the latest revision.
